Spring 2007
I was a TA for Formal Languages, Automata, and Computation, taught
by Lenore Blum, at CMU.
Fall 2005
I was a TA for Algorithm
Design and Analysis (15451),
taught by Avrim Blum, at CMU.
It's a junior-level algorithms course.
Spring 2004
I was the Head TA for Discrete Mathematics (CS22),
taught by Anna Lysyanskaya, at Brown
University. The course is required for CS majors and
generally taken by freshmen and sophomores.
Fall 2003
I was the Head TA for Talking With Computers (CS9-2),
taught by Tom Dean,
at Brown
University.
The course is a fairly intensive freshman seminar for non-majors, designed to give an
introduction to computer science (as opposed to programming).
This was the first time this course was taught.
I worked on course development and collaborated on the
development of teaching materials in summer 2003.
Fall 2002
I was a TA for Integrated Introduction to Computer Science (CS17),
taught by John Hughes, at
Brown University.
The two-course sequence
integrates the study of data structures and analysis with an
introduction to programming in three languages (Scheme, ML, and
Java).
I worked as a one-on-one tutor for calculus and freshman chemistry classes.
Summer 2000
I was the TA for a Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth
summer course in logic for gifted fifth and sixth graders. It's a three-week
course with six hours of instruction daily.
