The OpenWrt project now supports the Seagate DockStar. Please see this page for installation instructions.
My original HOWTO can be found here, but please note that its approach is incompatible with the one now used by OpenWrt. In particular, OpenWrt uses a 2-stage bootloader and a different flash partitioning scheme.
