Of course, it's first come, first serve. * I'll notify you if it's still available, if it is, I'll quote the price for shipping (by UPS unless not available or you prefer another method). I'll also provide a more in-depth description of the tool. If you're outside the continental U.S. we'll have to determine the shipping and duty or whatever (I'll need a lot of help from you). * SNAIL MAIL a check or money order to: Larry Poffenberger Box 702532 Tulsa, Ok 74170-2532 * When I receive the check or money order, I'll mail the tool and HOLD the check or money order * When you receive the item PLEASE notify me of receipt. If you're not satisfied, after I receive the returned tool, I'll return the check or M.O. * If I don't hear from you within 10 days from the date the tool was mailed, I will cash the check or money order. * I'll trade if you have something I want for my collection. * This procedure is pretty standard among the tool dealers. * Of course, if you have specific questions about condition or type, etc., Email them. I check tools for defects and attempt to do my best to describe them accurately. If you disagree or if I missed something, return the tool and I'll return your check or M.O.. If you really think I screwed up bad, I'll discuss refunding the return mailing charges. * Unless otherwise noted, tools are Stanley. Dirty means dirty, not rusted. I'll clean these tools, if you wish, for $10. Most of the collectors prefer the tools to not be cleaned so I'll give you the choice. * Unfortunately, selling parts is just not worth the time and effort of handling, so I don't normally do so. I'll make an exception if your total order (parts or whatever) totals at least $20. * Some abbreviations I use: Type Q blade - patent date of 1892 on blade (Roger Smith notation) VTM - V shaped Trade Mark (1910-1918) SWTM - Stanley Works Trade Mark (Sweetheart - 1919-1935) OT - Old Type bedrock, rounded sides NT - New Type bedrock, flat sides, unique frog attachment Needs TLC - Needs cleaning and minor repairs Fixer upper - All there, but needs extensive work (exceptions noted), sole flattening, wood repair, etc. "Proper" repair - repaired as well as can be done. Ex: Proper handle repair means the broken parts are properly fitted together, not offset, no significant gaps filled with body putty or whatever, etc. Please read the Fine Tool Journal (FTJ) ratings carefully and save both of us being disappointed. If you indicate whether you're looking for a user or collector (or both) quality tool, it will help me look it over for problems you may not want. Good means AVERAGE condition for this type and age of tool. Most tools I sell are in the 75-100 year old range. Average (Good) condition for this age means dark patina (black rust), tool box dings on the wood (major chips or breaks will be noted), 25-50% of the japanning is MISSING. Please don't expect a tool rated as Good to look anywhere near new. The dark patina can be removed with a wire wheel and the metal will look new, if you wish. This will pretty well destroy most collector's value. Before you do this, please wait 6 months, I think you'll change your mind. Just a suggestion... NOTE: I don't spend a lot of time "typing" the tool. If the type is critical, let me know and I'll do a more in-depth check. Remember, type studies are approximate, at best. If we disagree (on type or condition), you can return the tool and I'll refund the price of the tool. Please remember, this is my hobby, not a full time business.
