Rudnicky] received a B.Sc. in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal in 1975, and a Ph.D. in the same discipline from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1980. After a stay at the University of Toronto, he joined the faculty at Carnegie Mellon, where he is currently a Systems Scientist in the School of Computer Science. In addition to his work in speech recognition, Dr. Rudnicky has studied the influence of language experience on speech perception and visual processes in reading. His current interests include the role of phonology in lexical access, and the design of voice-based interfaces. Dr. Rudnicky is a member of the IEEE.
